This is a classic example of synthesis, the highest form of learning. Share how your article work learning (researching it, gathering information, writing the article, making APA citations) is going and what issues you’re having. How is your research going? Are you finding plenty of materials for your article? What difficulties are you having? What are you learning as a result of this article? What are you enjoying about this process? Remember, you can be innovative with your articles and do like what Hicks did in his text: put QR codes in the margins with links to videos that add to your research. Be creative but remember this is research/evidence based!

So far, my research is going well. I am finding plenty of materials but it seems like it is all around the same type of things. Every article seems to give you what life will be like in 20 or so years with technology. This is helpful, and very interesting to read. I haven't started the APA citations page yet but I will start that soon and see if it gives me any complications. I am hoping I do it well and it doesn't! I really enjoy reading what experts are saying about our lives in the future and comparing what I read to how life is already changing in that way. It's crazy to read about changes we will see and makes me wonder WHEN these changes might be happening!
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said about how there are plenty of materials talking about the same type of things. This makes me realize that there are so many of us who are curious about how the world will function later in future due to constant change and development of new technologies.
DeleteI came across many peer reviewed articles where the authors have conducted many different research experiments on how technology has influenced us both positively and negatively. It doesn't seem like I will find anything that clearly justifies whether the advancement has brought more positive effects than negative effects. Like i mentioned in earlier blog post about how the positive effects always comes with a price, there were quite a few articles where they also talked about it. I don't think the article i am working on will have a yes or no answer to it but more about how we as deciders will have to come with new strategies to make use of the technology in a right way. As I am working on this article, I am trying to find videos and articles that I can link on my article. I am learning something new each time I try to look for new resources.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you are learning new things when you find a video! I did that too, I linked a video with a QR code and found this video to be very informative. It was about technology in the future and it makes me excited to see these changes hopefully soon!
DeleteLike I mentioned earlier, It think we should recognize the down effects of technology to avoid problems like less interactive society as described in the “can we auto-correct humanity” video we have watched. Therefore, to make the most out of digital tools, we need to be aware of the down effects of technology.
DeleteMy research and gathering information for my article went well. Flipboard has been very useful for me, and it was a great starting point since it was easy to search and find some articles describing the updates on the issue I was writing about. By using Filpboard and other scientific journals such as ACS publications, and YouTube, I was able to get plenty of resources for my article, which I had to pick and narrow down to few articles. Some of the difficulties include that I had to pay for some of articles I needed, especially those articles from ACS publications. So, I had to find away to get around that, and even contacted some my chemistry teachers for help.
